Massage Therapy at The Physio Studio

At The Physio Studio we offer you sports massage and deep-tissue massage as we know that sports and deep-tissue massage is an effective tool in your recovery as it reduces muscle soreness and promotes healing.

Massage therapy also works well alongside your physiotherapy treatment. This can be as part of the preparation for a sporting activity or recovery from an injury as part of an ongoing package of care.

We also off more relaxing “restorative massage” as a natural and effective way to ease tension, creating relaxation and reducing stress.

If you are recovering from the Marathon or simply need a relaxing treat, book your massage with us or buy a voucher for use in the future.

We offer massage therapy to anyone who feels they will benefit, either as a one off relaxing treat, (Read more…)

Bracknell Town Walking Football Club goes from strength to strength.

There is a growing Buzz around the sport of Walking Football with over 500 clubs now registered in the UK. We are very pleased to be continuing our sponsorship of local team, Bracknell Town Walking Football Club.

The team creates a fantastic opportunity for people over 50 to rediscover the joy of playing Football but at a slowed down pace.

Anyone with mobility or previous health problems can have a go. All abilities, all fitness levels. The emphasis is on promoting an active lifestyle and a team spirit. As Alan Shearer describes: “despite the name, the sport is no walk in the park. A game as mental as it is physical, stifling the urge to run is an early challenge”.

If you missed our first home page ‘Community Focus’ feature about our local Bracknell Town Walking Football Club then please scroll down through this page or see our Facebook page where you will find links for more information and video’s of the game and players in action!

Since the team set up just over a year ago, numbers have steadily risen and the team now has 38 members who meet at the 3G pitches behind Bracknell Leisure Centre for their weekly training sessions on Wednesday’s at 10:30-11:30. They would love you to come and join in or support them.

Physio Studio patient wins race

The event is a gruelling ultra distance running race. It is England’s longest non-stop trail race that follows the course of The River Thames for 250 miles! Only 30-40% of the race starters complete the race so Karen’s hard work, training and determination paid off as she won the race by some margin and now holds the female course record:

Karen says:
“I just wanted to pass on my thanks again for all your help. Still cannot believe it, but I know it would not have come together in quite the same way if not for all the work you have both (Mike Chisholm – Physio and running coach, Shane Benzie) put in for me.

I am so grateful, I wanted this race quite a lot, thank you thank you!”

Muscle activation exercises get great results for our patients!

This month we reveal a powerful exercise tool that gives you control over your body!

Physio Studio Physiotherapist Rebecca Colledge is trained in a specialist technique called Muscle Activations.

These ‘activation’ exercises are very simple, quick and easy to remember as they involve massaging just a few specifically chosen points on your body for 30 seconds each, a few times a day. They are a way of ‘waking up’ sluggish muscles where pain, poor postures or injury has allowed our brains to forget how to make them ‘switch on’ at the right time and the right way. An assessment identifies which muscles need targeting and strengthening. Then over time, the daily exercises start ‘activating’ the right muscles by reminding them to work together to support our posture and movements to reduce pain.

These exercises fit well with our Physio Studio Philosophy as they are a powerful tool to give you back control over your own health.

A recent testimonial talks in more detail about the great benefits of the activation exercises on our testimonials page here…….

Most of our Physiotherapists here are trained in these techniques and use them daily in their treatments. Please contact our team for more information or book an appointment to have a 1:1 assessment to see they could help you.

Bracknell Town Walking Football Team sponsorship

Walking football is still football as we know it but played at a slower pace making it more accessible to those individuals who may not have played for years or perhaps have an injury or less mobility. It provides a new opportunity for those with a desire to be active again, participate in a sport they love, and be part of a team with like minded people.
