A Bit About Michaela

Michaela has developed a unique dual-career in rehabilitation. After graduating as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2007, she went on to gain an additional Post-Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy from the Royal Veterinary College. She now divides her professional time between treating both humans and animals.

Physiotherapy Approach

Michaela treats all musculoskeletal conditions, whether chronic or more acute using 'hands-on' manual therapy soft tissue treatments. She uses acupuncture and is particularly known for her management of patients who want longer term support for chronic conditions. The rapport and trust she develops with her patients has built a loyal patient base who frequently return and recommend her to friends and family. 

Clinical Pilates

Michaela qualified as a Pilates Instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute in 2008 and has been teaching regular classes locally, and at The Physio Studio, ever since. Michaela’s classes involve gentle mat-based exercises designed to strengthen the core muscles of people who suffer with back pain or dysfunction and those recovering from back injuries and/or surgery. These classes are also suitable for anybody looking for a gentle form of exercise to improve their core strength, balance and general muscle function.

Advanced Electrolysis

She also has certification in Advanced Electrolysis.  Advanced Electrolysis is thermolysis treatment using a sterile, disposable heated needle to remove or reduce common skin lesions. Although it does not sit under the scope of  'physiotherapy', it draws upon her existing needling skills, builds a different skill set and sees her work in a new therapeutic role to help patients with skin tags, moles and blemishes they wish to have removed.​​​
